UCC-SPC mourns the loss of Nation Builder Mary Usick

d. 05 July 2010 (Regina, SK)

July 26, 2010 -- Mary Florence (nee Matlock) Usick passed away on July 5, 2010 at the age of 95. She was predeceased by her husband Bill, parents Peter and Anne Matlock, siblings Irene, Olga, Peter, Nick and Emily (Blakey). She is survived by her sister Eileen Morris and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mary's kindness, good humour and caring nature enriched the lives of many. She gave selflessly. Her gifts of food, clothing, money, time and love were given freely to family, church, charitable organizations and those in need at home and afar.

She lived an independent and productive life, playing an active role in the church and the Ukrainian Women's Association. For her dedication, she was recognized with the Ukrainian Nation Builder's Award.

At her request, a private family funeral was held and she was interred at Riverside Memorial Park. Donations in Mary's memory, may be made to the Salvation Army Regina Wascana Grace Hospice, 50 Angus Road, Regina, SK S4R 8P6.
