Employment Opportunity: Translators/Interpreters for the UCC-SPC Immigration Program

December 19, 2008 --The Ukrainian Canadian Congress-Saskatchewan Provincial Council is seeking translators and interpreters across Saskatchewan to provide a variety of contracted services in support of its immigration settlement and integration program. Contracts are short-term based on specific client needs. Applicants should state any experience, their preference for translation direction (English to Ukrainian, Ukrainian to English, both) as well as whether they are interested written, oral or both.

Duties:

• Interpretations and translations as required from English to Ukrainian and/or Ukrainian to English.

Skills:

• Proficiency in spoken and/or written English and Ukrainian languages
• Experience in translation and/or interpretation
• Flexibility with working hours
• Ability to work under short timelines
• Ability to provide accurate translation/interpretation
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Computer/internet proficiency

Requirements:

1. Computer/internet access
2. Driver’s licence may be required

Experience: relevant experience in either oral or written translations in English and Ukrainian.

Employment Type: Contract basis as per services performed
