Adult Ukrainian Language Immersion Camp 2006

March 8, 2006 -- Planning for the Adult Ukrainian Language Immersion Camp (AULIC) 2006 is well on its way and along with the successful four-day weekend, a five-day extended program is being announced. During the first four days (August 10 to 13), three levels of instruction will be offered: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced. The additional five-day program, continuing to August 18, will allow for a more intense Ukrainian language immersion environment and is dedicated to intermediate and advanced level participants who wish to build on their knowledge of the Ukrainian language.

AULIC’s success is based primarily on the quality of language instruction which is supplemented with a culturally enriched program. The Organizing Committee ensures that instructors selected for the camp are skilled Ukrainian teachers. Wherever possible and practical, instructors with past AULIC experience will be engaged for 2006 and any new instructors will be required to meet the high standard set by their predecessors.

AULIC 2006 will again be held at Trident Camp, 25 kms north of Canora Saskatchewan at Crystal Lake resort. Further information about the venue and facilities can be obtained by logging on to the AULIC website.

The registration fee for attendance from August 10 to 13 is $185 per participant if received prior to June 15 and $200 thereafter. The registration fee for attendance from August 10 to 18 is $310 (if received by June 15) and $325 thereafter. Room, board and all printed materials are covered in that fee. Those interested in learning more about AULIC 2006 may contact members of the Organizing Committee: Ed Lysyk (306) 789-6622, Wayne Hydeman (306) 545-2003, Ken Mazur (306) 789-4062, Rhonda Slugoski (306) 569-9532 or Tony Harras (306) 586-6805 or 585-7945 (fax), or send an email to info@aulic.ca.

AULIC is sponsored by the Ukrainian Canadian Professional and Business Association of Regina and the Ukrainian Orthodox Men's (TYC) Association of Regina with financial assistance provided by Ukrainian Canadian Congress – Saskatchewan Provincial Council & Regina Branch, Saskatchewan Lotteries, and Saskatchewan Organization of Heritage Languages (SOHL).

Plan now to attend. If last year was any indication, there will be a long lineup for this year’s camp.
