Ukrainian Day in the Park

Ukrainian Day in the Park...

Saskatchewan's only outdoor Ukrainian Festival takes place annually on the 4th Saturday in August in Kiwanis Park on the river bank next to Saskatoon's landmark Delta Bessborough Hotel.

In 2010 the day will begin with a breakfast at the Ukrainian Museum of Canada beginning at 8:30 am. An ecumenical prayer serviice will begin at 11:00 am in Kiwanis Park. From noon onward activities will continue in the traditional manner south of the hotel. Featured are the all-day stage show, beer garden, Ukrainian food, children's activities, cultural displays, and a giant balloon launch. All these components provide an enjoyable family experience,

Patrons relax in the beer garden, or on the lawn, in the shade of huge elm trees where every seat accords an excellent view of the performers on stage with the jade-coloured water of the South Saskatchewan gently flowing by in the background.

Admission is free. Visitors are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs.

Ukrainian Day in the Park 2010 takes place August 28 11:00 am to 9:00 pm. Call 306-244-3800 for more information.

We know people are coming from Manitoba! They are coming from Alberta! They are coming from various centres in Saskatchewan! What's the occasion?
