11:45a UCPBA Saskatoon Monthly Luncheon (11:45 AM)
Rembrandt's Restaurant located in the Senator Hotel (243 21st St E, corner of 21st St & 3rd Ave), Saskatoon
You are invited to attend our monthly Ukrainian Canadian Professional & Business Association of Saskatoon luncheon.
We have two guest speakers, Tricia McAuley and Lindsay Royale from the SPCA, a potential community partner for King of Kovbasa.
The Saskatoon SPCA has been providing a safe shelter and finding happy homes for companion animals in Saskatoon and surrounding area since 1968. As a registered charitable organization, the Saskatoon SPCA relies on the generosity of individual and corporate donors to raise necessary funds to provide shelter, care, nutrition and love to an average of 5,000 abandoned, lost, homeless and neglected animals annually.
Tricia McAuley joined the team at the Saskatoon SPCA in July of 2007 and hasn't looked back since. As Tricia puts it, “I’ve been passionate about animal welfare since I was old enough to walk and talk, so working at the Saskatoon SPCA has been a dream come true for me.” Working as the Fundraising and Donor Relations Coordinator, Tricia is responsible for many of the tasks related to fundraising at the shelter. With nearly 50% of the annual operating budget coming from donations or from fundraising events, the animals rely on her efforts and the public’s support in order to receive the wonderful care and safe shelter that they do.
Lindsay Royale, the Education and Public Relations Coordinator, is a newer addition to the Saskatoon SPCA. Arriving in March of 2012, it didn't take her long to make her mark. Rejuvenating the educational programs and offerings, Lindsay has made presentations ranging from basic responsible pet ownership to pet overpopulation to animal protection, reaching audiences from kindergarten students to senior citizens. “The wonderful part of humane education is that it encourages exploration of complex issues rather than judgment,” said Lindsay.
